How to get to the canal

The easiest access to the canal is at East Cottingwith (down Canal Lane), Hagg Bridge, Melbourne Arm (down the lane beside the Melbourne Arms), Walbut Bridge, Bielby Arm, Coates Bridge and Canal Head (the picnic site is off the A 1079, opposite the Wellington Oak).

What you see will depend on the web browser and version you are using. With luck you should be able to see a streetmap of the Melbourne area, a satellite image of the canal and a combination map.

Good satellite images that show the locks and bridges clearly. If you know the canal well you should be able to work out when these photos were taken.
